
Assistant Professor – Bacteriology/Microbiology

The Department of Bacteriology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (http://www.bact.wisc.edu) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. The Department is seeking candidates whose research is at the cutting edge of any area of molecular microbiology. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a vigorous, extramurally-funded, independent program and to participate in the teaching mission of the Department. University and/or community service is also required as appropriate.
Applicants should have a PhD in microbiology, biochemistry, genetics, cell and molecular biology, or related field. A strong research background as well as experience in mentoring and teaching is expected. The University of Wisconsin and the Department of Bacteriology provide an excellent environment for the development of an outstanding research program.
