Giving

We thank the many alumni and friends of the Department who have generously supported our programs in the past and for the positive influence these gifts have on the future of our department. In turbulent funding times like those we find ourselves in currently, philanthropic support of the Department mission keeps our programs healthy and provides continuity.

Gifts through the UW-Foundation enhance the learning experiences of our students and support groundbreaking research initiatives. The Bacteriology General Fund provides flexible funding which the Department deploys for its highest priority and most urgent teaching, research and public outreach needs and growth areas. In keeping with The Wisconsin Idea, the impact of donations reaches far beyond the University, contributing to the broader scientific community and the advancement of knowledge in the field of microbiology. Gifts of any size are welcome and greatly appreciated.

While the General Fund is the most powerful and immediate way to contribute to the Department, we would be happy to discuss other specific funds or initiatives with you. For more information about giving, please contact  Katrina T. Forest, Department Chair, or Kari Straus, Department Administrator.

The Bacteriology General Fund aids the Department in its teaching, research and public service (outreach) roles.
